Author Interview: Brender Omari

Brender Omari today's Emerging Writer Interviewee is from Kenya but has lived in Beirut, Lebanon and everyone knows that least stories about that place. Brender has experienced things in her life which few of us can imagine and wants to share her earlier life and what it taught her to help others who may have lived what she has. Her story is one which grabs you by the heart and throat and makes you wonder how lucky you really were, here in the West growing up....check out her blog for samples of her writing, in her very to the point and no frills style. The style of Truth, which has no frills or fancy explanations. Brender is working on her first book which she hopes to release this year and I wish her fantastic luck with that because she has both talent and a story to tell!

OK, over to Brender;

So, tell me about yourself, the person, not just the writer. You have 2000 words (ish, very ish)

Am Brender Omari born in Kenya i.e. East Africa am very straight forward person who likes to take things in his stride in a very level headed manner. Life is quite exciting to me as it has galores of opportunities and experiences to offer and I feel one should always make the right use of it. I am adventurous by nature for I like to take up new challenges. It gives me the zeal and impetus to work towards excellence. One thing I firmly believe in is that one should always strive towards individual betterment, in whichever form it may be. Therefore I'm never tired of beginning where others end. There are many things that I like to do and experience. I like to dance, I like to walk, I like to read fiction books, Ilike to be alone with myself for peace and I love to travel. I am also a good listener.

How did you first get into writing?

Since I was little but didn’t took it seriously.

Have you published or received awards for anything you have written?

Not yet but am looking forward to receive one this year (haha I love that positivity!)

Tell me all about your current project, add a 200 hundred word excerpt if you like of your favourite part.

Working on my blog now and so far am receiving positive feedback

Have you ever or would you ever think of doing a collaboration (this is not an offer).Why/Why not?

Yes I believe in knowledge and idea Sharing

What experience or part of your personal life has been the biggest influence on your style and writing?

Generally the society, and the way I handle the surrounding

Your writing and all projects…time to plug away..

There’s something weird about the idea of being a writer its a vague ,wishy washy concept I have to do self promotion, editing ,graft, grief and rejection what most people think that writers have great lives are fabulously wealthy and sit around and make up stories \ poems all of which go on to be published without much bother

New writers, what would be your most serious best advice?

Stay positive, have patience ,most of all trust in God and write like your world is going to end

Ok controversial perhaps but what most irritates you with the world of writing today?

The copy paste kind of writer’s. Writer’s are beginning to loose their originality

So what's your way forward in 2018? What can we expect?

More writing ,more of reading and probably I will get to publish a book

Poetry or prose, be honest? Why?

Poetry any day of time I like the turn of the words the decorations, the pose and so on

Finally, one hundred years from now, how will they remember you? Why?

I will be gone and I want people to remember me with the stories ,poems and words that I will leave behind

Thank you Brender! I, personally am very much looking forward to your fist full-length writing! Please check out the link to Brender's blog below and let's recognise this upcoming talent as she deserves.
